Polish Home Foundation is
a Seattle based non-profit organization that promotes Polish heritage in the Pacific Northwest by sponsoring local events involving Polish culture and arts, by taking part in events important to the Polish-American community and by assisting Polish - American organizations in the area. PHF is a public 501(c)(3) charity.

Oct 2005: A grant to the Polish Home Expansion project A grant of $8,250 to the Polish Home Association in Seattle to pay for the remainder of the Conditional Use Permit fee for the Polish Home construction project to the City.
Oct 2005: A grant towards a Solidarity booklet A grant of $300 to prof. Zb. A. Pietrzyk of Seattle towards printing of his historical booklet about support for the Solidarity movement by the Seattle community in the 1980s.
Sep 2005: A grant to the Polish Home ventilation project A grant of $5,143 to the Polish Home Association to help with the financing of the new ventilation system at the Polish Home.
Jun 2005: A grant to the Polish Museum in Rapperswil A grant of $3,120 to the Polish Museum in Rapperswil, Switzerland. This grant was possible due to multiple donations to the Museum in memory of Ms. Jadwiga Golubiec.
May 2005: A grant to Gazetka Polonijna A grant of $400 to the Society for Polish Culture in Seattle for the quarterly Gazetka Polonijna, to support Polish language publishing in Seattle.
Apr 2005: A grant to Polish Film Festival A grant of $1000 to Seattle-Gdynia Sister City Association towards the organization of the Seattle Polish Film Festival, running April 23 – May 1, 2005.
Apr 2005: A grant to Polish Wings in WWII exhibition A grant of $228 to cover the cost of the Polish Wings in WWII exhibition organized by Krzysztof Poraj-Kuczewski for the lecture Question of Honor about Polish pilots who fought in the Battle of Britain.
Mar 2005: A grant to Radio Wisla A grant of $250 to Radio Wisla of Seattle to support Polish language broadcasting.

Oct 2004: A grant towards the  Wesele Poety concert A grant of $300 to support a concert of songs to poems by Polish poets (in Polish) to music by Tomasz Aleksander. Organized by Mr. Aleksander and the Polish Home on Nov 20, 2004.
Oct 2004: A grant to Seattle libraries An in kind grant of several books and movies related to the Warsaw Uprising and the Polish resistance movement in WWII to libraries of the Seattle area. Estimated value about $500.
Sep 2004: A grant to Radio Wisla A cash grant of $500 to support Polish language programming by Radio Wisla.
Sep 2004: A grant towards the Warsaw Uprising anniversary concert A cash grant of $250 to support the concert commemorating 60th anniversary of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising at the Polish Home in Seattle on Sep 19, 2004.
Aug 2004: A grant to Polish Home An in kind grant of wide-screen 52" Sony TV to the Polish Home Assn. in Seattle to support cultural programs at the Polish Home.
June 2004: Lecture grant to J. & S. Pagacz A cash grant of $250 to Julia and Stanislaw Pagacz towards their lecture at the Polish Home in Seattle about their research on the Lake Baikal and the Buryats people. More.
May 2004: Equipment grant to Radio Wisla A grant of a Lexmark X1150 copier-printer-scanner device to Radio Wisla to support Polish language broadcasting in the Puget Sound region.
April 2004: A grant to the Polish School A cash grant of $350 to the Polish School in Seattle towards the cost of equipment such as a copier for the School.
April 2004: A medical grant for Mariola Blonska A cash grant of $1200 to the Mariola Blonska Benevolent Fund towards her medical bills. This is the result of a fundraiser for the benefit of Ms. Blonska who recently died from an untreatable cancer. More.
March & April 2004: A grant to the Wiktor movie project A cash grant of $2250 to Blue Mountain Pictures towards the Wiktor: the Art of Survival documentary movie project. This was the result of a fundraiser for the project held on Mar 12, 2004 at the Polish Home. More.
2003 Summary of 2003 grants
Dec 2003: A grant to the Warsaw Academic Theatre A cash grant of $500 to the Academic Theatre of the Warsaw University to support Theatre's performance in Seattle featuring poetry by Zb. Herbert to music by St. Radwan. More.
Dec 2003: A grant towards Poles in Middle Asia exhibit A cash grant of $500 to support organization of an exhibit about Poles in Middle Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan etc) in 19th and 20th century in Seattle. The exhibit is organized by PHF in collaboration with Dr. Olga Medvedeva of Vancouver, BC, and based on Dr. Medvedeva's archives. Volunteers needed.
Dec 2003: A grant towards a fundraiser & exhibit for the Wiktor Siminski project  A cash grant of $250 towards initial costs of organizing a fundraiser for the the documentary movie project. The fundraiser will be hosted by PHF and Mr. Julian Siminski, the producer of the movie  and will include an exhibit of photos of Wiktor Siminski's art.
Dec 2003: A grant to the Polish School A cash grant of $250 to the Polish School in Seattle to help with School's operating costs.
Oct 2003: A grant for the Seattle Polish Film Festival A cash grant of $1000 to the Seattle-Gdynia Sister City Association to support organization of the 12th Seattle Polish Film Festival. More about the SPFF at www.PolishFilms.org.
Oct 2003: A grant towards Wiktor: the Art of Survival doc movie project Mr. Siminski was an artist and a survivor of the Nazi Sachsenhausen camp. A cash grant of $250 goes towards a documentary movie about him and his art that is being made with support of the Film Arts Foundation by Mr. Julian Simiski of Blue Mountain Pictures, all based in California. Sep 2003: A grant for George Gordon's family reunification A cash grant of $250 towards the George Gordon Holocaust and War Victims Tracing Case fund at the Seattle Red Cross. Mr. Gordon, born Jerzy Budzynski,  is a local survivor of nazi death camps at Stuthof and Buchenvald. Only in July, 2003 did he learn that his sister Krystyna also survived. The Seattle Red Cross organized a family reunion trip for Mr. Gordon to Wroclaw, Poland.
Sep 2003: A grant for the Polonez Dance & Sing Group A cash grant of $500 towards the cost of the Polonez group giving a performance in Seattle. The group comes from Vancouver, BC to perform at the 85th anniversary gala of Polish Home Association on Oct 25. More.
Sep 2003: A grant for facility improvements at the Polish Home in Seattle A cash grant of $5000 for the facility improvements at the Polish Home in Seattle. The money goes towards replacing upper hall windows with noise-reducing ones to address serious concerns of the neighborhood residents and avert a legal action threatening cultural programs at the Polish Home.
June 2003: A grant for the Walbrzych dance group A cash grant of $1000 supporting a visit & performance by the Walbrzych folk sing & dance group from Poland in Seattle in the fall of 2003.

Sep 2003 update: as the group cancelled visit, the grant has not been used.

June 2003: A grant for the Slavic Department of the UW A cash grant of $1000 supporting events involving Polish language and culture organized by the Department of the Slavic Languages and Literatures of the University of Washington in Seattle. The money goes towards the Polish Avant-Garde Film event at the UW. For events planned by the Slavic Dept. for the fall of 2003 please see http://depts.washington.edu/slavweb/
Mar 2003: A grant for the Olbinski exhibition A cash grant of $350 towards the initial costs of organizing the Olbinski poster exhibition in Seattle. May 2003 update: the exhibition cost was about $5000 and was fully covered by public support and the fundraiser held during Mr. Olbinski's visit to Seattle. Thank you for your support!
Mar 2003: A medical grant for Zack Moss A cash grant of $1000 towards medical cost of recovery and rehabilitation for Zack Moss. Zack was a victim of a hit and run accident when attending to his bike at a roadside. He suffered broken vertebrae, was in coma for 2 weeks and has been paralyzed. He cannot speak, can barely move and is undergoing a rehabilitation.

Sep 2003 update: the grant pays for Zack's speech therapy.

Mar 2003: A medical grant for Krzysztof Tasak A cash grant of $2132 towards medical costs of recovery and rehabilitation for Mr. Krzysztof Tasak. Mr. Tasak is a paraplegic after a diving accident last fall. He is now undergoing an intensive therapy at a convalescent center in Des Moines. Sep 2003 update: the money was used to pay for a special orthopedic brace supporting the right side of the body. It makes possible for Mr. Tasak to learn walking again.
2002 Summary of 2002 grants
Dec 2002: A grant towards the "Polna Rapsodia" concert A cash grant of $500 towards the “Polna Rapsodia” concert to support a public concert featuring songs to poems by Polish authors. The concert is organized by Mr. Tomasz Aleksander and is scheduled for March 9, 2003 in Seattle.
Nov 2002: A grant to the Polish School A cash grant of $300 to the Polish School in Seattle to provide funds for educational DVDs in Polish planned as awards for the students of the School.
Sep 2002: A grant to PHA A software grant valued at $1050 to Polish Home Association in Seattle to upgrade software to improve membership bookkeeping as well as the service at PHA library
